Many years ago in year 1908 it was asked "When China will participate in Olympic?When they will win a medal?When will they host it?".The former questions were answered a long time ago but in 08.08.08 china answered the third question .This olympic showed the might of an asian country,one of the oldest civilization in the world.Despite many hurdles like a true champion china emerged victorious in all obstacles laid in there path.China not only became the first asian country to top the medal tally but also showed they were numerno uno as a host.
This olympic from the very begining was under a lot of pressure ,starting with the tibetian protestor ,who even managed to extinguish the very flame of olympic which symbolises peace and harmony to Fundamentalist who threatended to attack the olympic games.But despite all these stuff Bejing olympic was one to be remembered for the good reason.
Bejing olympic witnessed some great stuff from America's Micheal Phelps who single handedly won 8 gold medal shattering the record of former great Spitz who won 7 gold medal in a single olympic.However apart from Phelps record US didn't do well in many discipline like Athletics and boxing.This olympic also produced another star ,Jamaica's Usain Bolt breaking michael Johnson's record 200 m record and setting new record in both 100 m and 400 m relay.
Although china toped the medal tally but to be fair it was Jamica was a nation to watch with 11 medal outwhich 6 were gold.Although it is not much but for a country 2.8 million people it is great.Another medal which might not mean much to the world but a lot to a country of billion people India ,it was the gold of Abhinav Bindra in 10 m rifle shooting.It was the first Individual gold for India.This olympic also brought some disappointment to few countries,Cuba unable to win a single boxing gold medal this time and Brazil yet again failing to win a gold in football.However this olympic was not only a success as an event but also a success for the game with a total of 36 records being broken.
Now with the farewell to the game I m heart Broken ,but with a golden hope the that London 2012 Olympic will provide us another success story of human endurance and will power ,like the same way bejing provided us to tell
